For the past year or two, we have been discussing how we can leave the business that we’ve built from the ground up more than 17 years ago. Unlike many fellow travelers, wrapping up our jobs isn’t as simple as walking in one day and giving notice. (I wish!)
We talked about all sorts of options but the bottom line is that we continue to love what we do and can’t imagine doing anything else. If it wasn’t for our passion for traveling with our family and the call of the wild, we’d be perfectly happy. We love the people we work with and feel incredibly loyal to our employees, most of whom have been with us for a long time. We are so honored to work with such incredible people.
So, finally, with the help of some great legal counsel, we have been able to arrange a system to help motivate our current staff to keep things running for a year while we are gone. We are thrilled with our new arrangement and feel like we are leaving things in extremely capable hands.
Now, we just have to tell the grandparents we are leaving…..
