Taking the Big Break

I am happy that we are going on this trip, but of course, it won’t be all easy sailing. Sometimes we will miss our tour or boat ride, but in places where nothing is on time, that will happen. Also, we will not see anyone for a good chunk of time. But, it will be worth it. We will meet new people and love more places, understand new languages, and even know more plant and animal species. It’s one BIG field trip!

It is hard to go on this trip. Not enough people do it, so there isn’t a simple system. There is a tremendous amount of loose ends to this awesome trip.  It is hard, but we will try harder.

My family all wants to meet up with us on our trip. We are getting crowded already. We have relatives with us for two weeks in Thailand. More family wants to visit us in Australia. Two more will be with us in South Africa and Botswana. Friends want to come to Greece. Other friends will host us. I think at least half our trip will be spent with either friends or family.

I am stressed out about getting ready and everything.  Considering we only have two weeks to get ready and our house still has enough stuff for us to live relatively comfortably. The number of things we have, though, is going down fast! On Saturday, we got rid of a lot of furniture and clothes.

I have many different feelings about how this trip will turn out.  We will (hopefully) play with elephants and relax at beaches, roadschool hard (homeschooling on the go) and walk through some of the biggest cities of all time (Such as Bangkok, Sydney, London, and Tokyo, just to name a few.) I am so excited about our fantastic BIG break!

I have many hopes of things that might just happen.  I have many worries about our trip too. But I shouldn’t worry too much, according to this quote by Mark Twain. “I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened.”  I think that quote is really funny! Homeschooling will be the difference between a  relaxing vacation and a busy trip.  Still, we will have time for many fun things on our trip.
