Legoland Malaysia! (Need I say more?)

We finally made it here!

We finally made it here!

On the southern tip of the Malaysian peninsula is Johor Bahru, a town my boys have been looking forward to for a long time if for no other reason than to go to Legoland Malaysia!  Well, we finally made it and had a fantastic time!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Malaysia’s first international theme park, Legoland is divided into the Legoland Theme Park and the Legoland Water Park.  We chose a combo pass and did a half day at each.  It worked out perfect as the day was hot so by the time we’d eaten lunch,we were all ready to get wet!  Come look at our photos!

We started the day with roller coasters:

The day was really slow at LegoLand with very few people.  We felt like we had the place to ourselves.  On most of the roller coasters, there would be no one waiting so we were able just stay on and keep on riding.   And, riding.  And….  one more time!

Then, took a 45 minute Lego Mindstorms class where the boys had to program their bot to solve missions:

Then, we walked through Mini-Land. Here they have taken 30 millions lego pieces and shaped all sorts of highlights of Asia from the temples of Indonesia and Cambodia to Kuala Lumpur skyscrapers.  Here are a few of them.

Finally, it was time to get WET at the Legoland Water Park:

My favorite was the Lazy River.  We floated down the river in tubes with lego pieces floating next to us.   Let me think….   Water AND Legos?!   Can it get any better for these boys?!

Then, we went to the HUGE play structure..  It was full of tubes and water guns and buckets dumping.  Everyone was squirting everyone.  There was not place to escape the deluge of water from above.  The best part is that the lifeguards were all part of the action.  They helped dunk buckets on people’s heads, squirted passersbyers and made sure to include everyone.   It was hysterical.  The guys were all having SO much fun that I actually stopped to ask a few of them if they were actually getting PAID for this. It was a blast.  We stayed for almost two hours in this area alone, playing with the lifeguards and other guests.

Finally, about an hour or so before they closed, it started to rain.  At first it was fine as we were so wet anyway.  But, slowly the rain, got harder, and harder….    and folks slowly started heading out.

A great day!

Time to go....

Time to go….

You will never have a day like this again in your lives.
I was excited right along with you. The maker of this place must be a grown up boy.

Probably depends on your kids. My boys could easily have done 6 hours or so at each. Thanks for reading, Michele!
