Traveling around the world has taught me so much and opened my eyes to more than just little old Lake Oswego. I am happy with how much I learned and I am excited to see how much I will learn by the end of this trip.
On this trip, travel has made me wonder where I want to live when I grow up. I have thought that I was definitely doing to live in the United States. Now, I am thinking about living in the Australia, Japan, Penang, Malaysia and Chiang Mai as well as the U.S. Chiang Mai was amazing because of the elephant camp, the city and all things we did. Penang because of its great cuisine, people and diversity. Australia because everyone speaks English and is friendly. And Japan because it is such a beautiful country all around. Of course Lake Oswego is home so that puts it high on the list of places to live.
Sometimes I wonder what career I will do when I grow up. I recently considered, from inspiration on Heron Island in the Great Barrier Reef from looking at the stars, I am thinking about trying to be an astronomer. Different considerations: lawyer, scientist, engineer. All of these are interesting and fun propositions.
My interest have changed, not so much that I don’t love reading and learning about science. Now I am more interested in astronomy. I am also becoming more and more interested in computer programming. I am also being more interested in math which is surprising considering that I thought math could never get any more interesting.
On this trip, I feel like I have learned so much about the world. I am so happy to know that my world and interests are changing. I love to travel, especially traveling where you learn about the world.
The power of travel is great!
