Conveyor belt sushi is so passé.

Conveyor belt sushi is so passé.

Today, we discovered what happens when Japanese sushi meets the Jetsons:  High tech screens and sushi shooting down the shute.  The kids were in heaven.  According to them, we have discovered “the best restaurant EVER!”

All the food (yes, even beer and desserts) are ordered via a computer screen in front of each person.  Within minutes, they come shooting down the line, stopping automatically in front of the orderer.   Wowza!  What fun.    Only about an hour before, we had just finished an amazing lunch and weren’t hungry but the ordering and receiving process was SO much fun that we couldn’t resist trying out the restaurant and even ordering more.

The prices were comparable to a conveyor belt sushi place (in other words extremely affordable).   If you ever make it to Tokyo, I highly recommend this high tech restaurant in Shibuya.  The fun factor makes it extremely worth it!    But be prepared to eat a lot as watching the sushi slide down the shute toward you makes you want order more!
